Real Firefighters at our House

Anyone who knows our family knows my oldest son's obssession with firefighters.  Since he was a little kid, he's been fascinated with all things firefighter.  You might remember the firefighter birthday party complete with firetruck cake and firefighter games.

Yesterday, we went to the Big Chili Cookoff, the annual fundraising event for the local fire departments in our area.  Alex, and his best friend Sadie, got to take part in a firefighter relay race.

They crawled through tunnels, lugged hoses and dragged "bodies" from a "burning building."  Alex was in heaven.

They got to use a real pressure hose to put out a pretend fire in a wooden building.  Alex has been talking about being a "real" firefighter ever since!
